OT15 Ezra 3-4

Study with Pastor Kelvin

Read: EZRA chapter 3-4

Summary:
When the Jews returned and settled in their towns, they reassembled in Jerusalem. They rebuild the altar of sacrifice and celebrate the feast of Tabernacles. With the daily sacrifices reestablished, they begin work on the foundation of the new temple. When the work is completed, all the people come together again for a great celebration. At first the local people, who were settled in Israelite territory by the Assyrians, offer to help with the temple. The Jews reject this offer. This arouses the hostility of their neighbors, who write to King Artaxerxes and falsely accuse the Jews of rebuilding the rebellious city of Jerusalem. The Persian king orders the Jews to stop work on the temple. Thus, through lies and intimidation work on the temple of God comes to a halt.

Prayer Point:
In the name of Jesus Christ as I pray,
O' Lord give me the grace to endure persecution.
