Read: EZRA Chapter 1 - 2
Summary:
Cyrus of Persia takes the crumbling Babylonian empire intact. One of his first acts is to reverse the Babylonian policy of deporting conquered people from their homelands. Cyrus issues a decree permitting any Jew who wishes to do so, to return to the promised land. The decree also permits contributions for rebuilding the Jerusalem temple. God moves many of the captives to return and stimulates all to give generously. Cyrus himself contributes the gold and silver utensils Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the first temple. Ezra then provides a detailed list of those who chose to return.
Prayer Point:
In the name of Jesus Christ as I pray, O' Lord deliver me from captivity.

ReplyDeleteGreat points on GOD'S faithfulness, reminds me that even when we are in wilderness (desolate) situations, HIS good plan is still in place, so we must remain hopeful & hope-filled as we stay the course to complete our journey into the promised land. HE makes ways out of nowhere & rivers of provision in the desert. All thanks & glory to our great, gracious GOD!

ReplyDeleteThe omniscient, the one and only God, knows the year, month, day, hour, and minutes to fulfill his promises to his beloved. Let us be reminded that a promise delay is not a promise canceled by God.
